What is Whedon Video Spot?

Whedon Video Spot is a fan created, fan run site dedicated to archving fan videos based on Joss Whedon television shows and films as well as providing a community where vidders can come together to help, teach, encourage and support one another in their vidding efforts. In addition, there will be monthly challenges, designed to encourage vidders to expand on their creativity.

Who's videos are listed?

Anyone's videos can be listed as long as their videos pertain to one of the allowed Joss Whedon projects. At this time, these are: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Serenity, Buffy the movie and Dollhouse (when & if it arrives). Crossovers are allowed as long as they do include something Joss related in them.

Are there any rules about the videos?

There are.

  • NO clip theft
  • NO porn
  • There is a 5 video limit per month for submittals
  • Follow the submission guidelines found here

Will WVS host my video?

Sorry, no. We do not host the videos, we only archive them and their respective links. There are any number of file-hosting sites online that you can use to host your video. All we ask is that when you submit your video, you also submit it with a valid download link. This is to ensure that all the moderators can quickly and properly preview the video to ensure it meets all the rules. If your video is submitted with only a streaming link, it will not be posted until we also receive a download link.

How do I sumbit my video?

To submit your video, you will need to send a private message to VideoMod via the forum. You must include the details listed here.

What are the challenges?

The challenges are monthly contests designed to be a fun way for vidders to expand on their creativity, think "outside the box", learn new techniques, improve their weak points and enhance their strong points.
